The Awkward Thoughts of W. Kamau Bell: Tales of a 6′ 4″, African American, Heterosexual, Cisgender, Left-Leaning, Asthmatic, Black and Proud Blerd, Mama’s Boy, Dad, and Stand-Up Comedian, by Kamau Bell

You may have seen Kamau Bell on CNN’s United Shades of America in which he researches and interviews Native Americans or Muslims by living among them.

August 6
The Sympathizer, by View Than Nguyen

Viet Thanh Nguyen’s novel The Sympathizer is a New York Times Best Seller and won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

September 3
An Accidental American: Memories of an Immigrant Childhood, by Ruth Gasten

Ruth lives in Livermore and facilitates Interfaith Interconnect. In An Accidental American, she recalls life in Hitler’s Germany, as seen through the eyes of a young girl who later escapes to the United States with her parents.
