Shawl Ministry

July 10 |  12:00-2:00pm

Do you knit? Crochet? Do you want to learn? Come join us! In this group, we work on projects for those in need of an extra dose of kindness. You can work on a shawl, chemo caps or a project you have already started. We meet in the Tot Green building. If you have questions or are interested in attending a meeting, contact Kim Rowe or Joan Dickinson through the church office at

The Shawl Ministry has completed its second afghan. At least a dozen people knitted or crocheted rectangles for the blanket in various beautiful patterns and colors. It will be given to the Tri-Valley Haven and make its way into the hands of someone in need. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this project.

UUCiL Knitters and Crocheters:

The Shawl Ministry is now collecting 7” x 9” rectangles to be stitched together to make throws and lap blankets. This a good time to try out new patterns on a small size project. Please bring your rectangles—with ends woven in—to church and put them in the basket at the back of the Sanctuary.

Here is a photo of the entire blanket.

Here are a couple of photographs of participants modeling shawls that they made.
