Welcoming Congregation

lgbt_chalice150x150Our Church is among the many Unitarian Universalist congregations that have voted to welcome and celebrate the presence and participation of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons – just as we welcome persons of any race, age, ability, or economic circumstances. Following a rigorous application process that included several workshops, the Unitarian Universalist Church in Livermore was designated a Welcoming Congregation.

The Welcoming Congregation Program is a completely volunteer program for Unitarian Universalist congregations that want to take intentional steps to become more welcoming and inclusive of people with marginalized sexual orientations and gender identities. Our Church celebrates weddings for Gay and Lesbian couples, and we have a long history of activism and outreach around this issue. For us, such inclusion is an extension of the core values of our faith.
