Membership
Welcome!
We are grateful that you are considering our church as a spiritual home! Membership is the beginning of a life-changing journey, where you are invited to live more deeply, faithfully, and generously. If you are contemplating membership or hoping to become better connected with the congregation, our minister welcomes a conversation.
Member Responsibilities
As we begin this journey together, members have certain responsibilities to the congregation and to one another.
Regularly attending worship
Commit to come each Sunday if possible. Weekly worship cements the bonds of community, and keeps our attention directed to our highest values, while nurturing our spirits.
Making financial contributions
Members make financial contributions based on a percentage of their income. This allows us to live out a core value of our faith: generosity. Members aim to pledge 5 to 10% of their annual income. An annual financial contribution on record with UUCiL is required in order to be a voting member.
Contributing time and talent
Congregations work because their members find ways to give of themselves, whether through singing, financial management, educating children, sharing their passion for social justice, organizing, cooking, greeting – the list of tasks goes on. In our experience, new members who participate in greeting, ushering, and making coffee find connections more quickly. We strongly recommend volunteering for one of these in your first month.
Our commitments to you
We have a responsibility to see that you are made welcome in a community that helps you find meaning and purpose in your life. Our church offers these privileges of membership:
