UUCiL donates half of its plate offering each Sunday to an organization that is making a difference in our world. The first six months of 2024 that organization is The Livermore American Indian Center (LAIC).

The TriValley Native American Center -Also known as the Livermore American Indian Center, LAIC was founded by local Native American families in 1973 after the passage of the 1972 Indian Education Act. Located on Livermore’s Lawrence Elementary School campus at 2451 Portola Avenue, the Center provides K-12 students of Native American heritage in Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton and Castro Valley with a positive learning environment in addition to tutoring and college application support. The center also supplies after-school cultural education classes and scholarships for students of indigenous heritage. In an effort to raise awareness about the history and cultures of indigenous Americans who lived and thrived in the Bay Area for thousands of years, LAIC also supports local indigenous cultural events.
