First Annual Meeting

The Livermore church was founded by 10 families, and there were 28 members in attendance.

1962
Purchased First Property

Purchased an older house at 4260 East First Street in Livermore and held services there.

1977
Purchased Second Property

Bought our current building on Vasco road. It previously housed a branch of the Baptist church.

1981
First Minister, Rev. Jones

Called our first permanent minister, Rev. Elizabeth Selle Jones, who served for 15 years.

1987
Became UUCiL

Reorganized as the Unitarian Universalist Church in Livermore (UUCiL).

1997
Rev. Eric Meter

Rev. Eric Meter arrived and served for ten years.

2002
Expanded Campus

Added a religious education wing and a multi-purpose building, to form the campus as it exists today.

2005
LGBTQ Welcoming Congregation

In 2005, we began taking steps to become an official Welcoming Congregation. Shelley Covey headed a committee of members of the congregation and the LGBT community.  After this yearlong process, members of the UUCiL voted unanimously to become an official Welcoming Congregation.

2009
Rev. Dr. Lucas Hergert

Rev. Lucas Hergert was our new settled minister until 2017.
