Speaker: Bob Miess
Bob Miess has had a life-long interest in the quest of the historical Jesus. His parents had grown up in Pentecostal communities, but left the church when they married. But Bob sought a meaningful spiritual life. He eventually became a Lutheran Pastor, but only for 3 years, because he found that he could not be an effective Lutheran Pastor while the essence of his faith was curiosity and doubt. In 1998 he joined the Unitarian Church of San Jose, and found that its commitment to liturgical participation and seeking truth deeply affirmed his own spiritual path. Since 2015, he has been connected with UUCiL, first as a member, then as a religious educator, then as an administrator. And now, he is also a “guest speaker”.
