Speaker: Ronnie Boyd
Ronnie Boyd is the Community, Faith & Justice Organizer at East Bay Housing Organizations in Oakland California. She is also a 2nd-year student at Starr King School for the Ministry in the Master of Divinity program. Ronnie organizes with Bay Area DRUUMM (Diverse Revolutionary Unitarian Universalists Multicultural Ministries) and works to connect UUs and UU congregations to social justice movements. Her diverse background includes organizing for police and prison abolition and advocating for public education reform. As a natural next step, she now advocates for affordable housing, as the grief of housing injustice lies as a backdrop to the organizing Ronnie formerly did in Chicago and now does in the Bay Area.
Ronnie will speak to us about gratitude as a practice and a prayer. In a world where many live without their basic needs being met and with dreams deferred, it’s important to remember why we give thanks.
