Music and Choir
Music is an important part of our worship services. It can speak to the soul deeply and powerfully, creating a time of beauty and reflection. Our congregation has our own musical style and traditions that draw from: Christian sacred music, world music, folk music, and acoustic guitar. Sometimes members of our congregation play various instruments in addition to our pianist.

We typically frame the worship service with an instrumental prelude and postlude. Two to three hymns during Service, often drawn from the Unitarian Universalist (UU) hymnals Singing the Living Tradition and Singing the Journey, involve the congregation in singing. At the service’s conclusion, our congregation members typically join hands and sing hymn #1010, “We Give Thanks.”
Choir

About once every two weeks, our choir performs an anthem (a piece with lyrics that complement the service’s theme) and an offertory (a piece performed while the congregation offers donations). Instrumental interludes can also accompany times of reflection or prayer. If you are interested in joining our choir, please talk to the music director after service or click here.
